2007 State Tournament July 22, 2007 |
Congratulations to the Alaska Baseball Academy Hornets, winners of the 2007 State Tournament, which was played July 13-15 at Kozinski Fields in Anchorage.
Zach Durst earned the victory in the championship game, leading the Hornets over the Grizzlies 8-6 on July 15. Greg Hazen, the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, suffered the loss.
Great job to all teams who participated and good luck the rest of the season!

With the Anchorage Adult Baseball League season less than a month away, mark these important dates on your calendar:

2006 Anchorage City Championship August 9, 2006 |
Another fine Anchorage Adult Baseball League regular season came to a close last week with the Phillies winning the pennant. But now it's time to earn real bragging rights, winning the City Championship.
All tournament games start Saturday at 6:30 p.m. with Steve's Sports Bar playing Alaska Cubs on K-3, Alaska Ravens battling Team AFS on K-1 and Alaska Grizzlies facing ABA Hornets on K-4.
The Phillies earned a bye and play the Steve's Sports Bar/Alaska Cubs winner on Friday at 6:30, K-4.
The championship game will be played at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday on K-4.
Here's the low-down on tournament rules:
1. Home Team is decided before game with a coin toss. Home team should keep a book, but the visiting team is encouraged to keep one as well. 2. All Games are 9 innings. 3. 10 run “Mercy” rule after 5 innings, 7 run rule after 7 innings. 4. There will be a 10-minute “Grace Period” only. The game will be a forfeit after 10 minutes. No exceptions and includes championship game. 5. There will be a 3 hour time limit on all games (unless tied after time limit). 6. Line-Up cards are provided and must be ready at game time. 7. Balls will be provided for each game. 8. (-3) Bats only for this tournament. 9. City Tournament Ejection Rule: A player ejected from a game will leave the complex for that game and will be reinstated for the tournament only after paying a $25.00 fine to the tournament director (checks paid to the Beans Cafe). 10. Tournament Director: Mike Woods 11. Trophies: 1st-3rd place trophies, MVP, Gold Glove, Silver Bat and 10 All-Tournament Players. 12. Have Fun and enjoy the baseball boys!

2005 State Tournament July 9, 2005 |
Charlton Ferreira earned the victory in Sunday's Alaska Adult Baseball State Tournament championship and helped lead the Phillies over the ABA Hornets 9-1 at Kosinski. Ferreira pitched 51/3 innings, walked two, struck out three and earned the tournament's Most Valuable Player award. In four tournament games, he batted .417 along with a slugging percentage of .917.

2005 Dick Taylor Preseason Kick-off May 12, 2005 |
Our annual preseason kick-off, May 19-22, will consist of five inning games with three games for each team.
Some important notes: No line-up cards needed. Bat as many as you want, but must stay in order. 2 hour time limit! 2 ball provided - you supply after they are gone. We will have 1 ump, at least, at every game - they are volunteering & practicing Flip coin for home team. Ejections count for the season total!
